dallas night skyline with bursts of fireworks
We have spent so much of the last 4 1/2 years scared of endings. Worried about any and everything being “the last”.

A post I saw, said that approximately 5000 fireworks are set off from Reunion Tower, in Dallas. I thought, that July night is going to be extra hot! For a second I had forgotten that people still celebrate things like the New year; fresh starts, new chances, and the excitement of what’s to come with the next year.

We have spent so much of the last 4 1/2 years scared of endings. Worried about any and everything being “the last”. Despite all the fear, there were tears cried, laughs shared, hands held, and memories made. Which collectively has brought us to 2025.

It’s a far cry from January 2023, with an imagined picture of what 3 to 6 months looked like. And the ending that was guaranteed to chase us down.

24 months, and ALL the beautiful moments that we’ve had!

I’m ashamed to admit I have been running from death, instead of chasing life. It’s hard to remember to be thankful, present, mindful, or even happy, when your life is full of uncertainty.

We are back here in Memphis on the 1st day of a new year, and back to business.

3 weeks ago, we learned, Nicholas’ tumors have stopped responding to the current chemo. Today’s X-Ray showed that there has been further disease progression since the beginning of December. Dr. Sarah being the phenomenon of an oncologist that she is, found a trial he didn’t qualify for, and made a case to the drug manufacturer for the permission to treat him with it “off study”. So, we will be here, every 3 weeks, for as long as whatever higher being will allow. Going after shot #8.

There are still no curative options, but getting this beast to stop is enough for us.

This coming year will continue to be filled with joy, hands full of it! Sometimes hard to spot, but I’m actively acknowledging it when I find it! Stopping to smell the flowers, or fresh cookies. Lol!

Business has been nice to us, and our vendor schedule is quickly filling up!!! We’re excited to grow the friendships with all our booth buddies, and our customers over the coming year!

2025, what can I say? Look Ma, we made it!
